Part IPrivacy Policy

Information We Collect

BENCHLINE collects the minimum required to run a reading publication: server logs generated automatically when pages are requested (IP address, browser type, referring page, timestamp), and — if you join Bench Notes — the email address you submit. We do not require accounts, and we do not collect names, locations, or payment details.

Cookies and Analytics

This site does not use advertising trackers, cross-site behavioral tracking, or third-party marketing cookies. If privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics are used, they measure page views in the aggregate only and do not profile individual readers.

How We Use Information

Email addresses are used solely to send the Bench Notes newsletter you asked for. Server logs are used for security and operational diagnostics. Information is not sold, rented, or shared for marketing purposes.

What We Don't Do

• No advertising or behavioral tracking.
• No sale or brokerage of reader data.
• No newsletter list sharing with third parties.
• No fingerprinting or cross-site profiling.

Third-Party Services

The site loads typefaces from Google Fonts; that request discloses standard connection data to Google under its own privacy policy. Images are hosted locally. No social media trackers or embedded third-party content are used.

Data Retention

Newsletter addresses are retained while you remain subscribed and deleted on unsubscribe. Server logs are rotated and deleted on a short operational cycle.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by writing to hello@benchline.review. Unsubscribing from Bench Notes is one click in every issue.

Children's Privacy

BENCHLINE is an editorial publication about preclinical research and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

International Readers

BENCHLINE is published from the United States. Readers in other jurisdictions access the site subject to the terms on this page; data is handled as described above regardless of reader location.

Part IITerms of Use

Acceptable Use

You may read, link to, quote briefly with attribution, and share BENCHLINE articles. You may not scrape the site at disruptive volume, misrepresent BENCHLINE content as your own, or use the publication's name to imply endorsement of any product or service.

Intellectual Property

Articles, design, and the BENCHLINE name and mark are the publication's intellectual property. Short quotations with clear attribution and a link are welcome without permission.

Republication

For republication beyond brief quotation, write to editors@benchline.review. We generally say yes to non-commercial, attributed reprints of full articles.

User Submissions

Pitches and correspondence sent to BENCHLINE may be quoted or referenced in coverage; we will not publish private correspondence without permission. Do not send confidential material you are not entitled to share.

No Warranty

The site is provided as is. While every article is checked against its sources, BENCHLINE makes no warranty that content is complete, current, or error-free.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BENCHLINE is not liable for damages arising from use of, or reliance on, this site. The publication discusses experimental research; it does not provide advice on which anyone should act.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify BENCHLINE against claims arising from your misuse of the site or violation of these terms.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remainder continues in effect.

BENCHLINE publishes summaries, analysis, and criticism of published preclinical literature for general education. Nothing published here is medical advice, and nothing describes or endorses the use of any compound in humans. Research discussed on this site may involve animal models, cell culture, and other experimental systems whose findings cannot be assumed to translate to human safety or efficacy. BENCHLINE does not sell, supply, source, or recommend substances.

If you have a medical question, ask a clinician. If you are looking for dosing, sourcing, or purchasing information, you are looking for something this publication deliberately does not provide — see Scope & Limitations.

Part IVEditorial Ethics & Corrections

BENCHLINE's working rules are published in full on the About page: name the model, show the limit, trace the lineage, read before citing, no dosing and no sourcing, correct in public.

Corrections policy: factual errors confirmed by the desk are corrected in the article with a dated note appended, never silently rewritten. Substantive disputes about interpretation are answered by the Research Editor and, where warranted, covered in a follow-up dispatch. Write to corrections@benchline.review.

Independence: BENCHLINE does not accept display advertising, sponsored articles, affiliate commissions, product-placement fees, or payment for editorial coverage. No contributor may hold a financial interest in any commercial product related to a subject they cover.

Part VAccessibility

BENCHLINE is built as static, semantic HTML: one heading hierarchy per page, keyboard-visible focus states, descriptive link text, alternative text on editorial photography, and layouts that remain readable without JavaScript and at high zoom. Text contrast is checked against WCAG AA targets.

Photography carries editorial captions as well as alt text, so image context is available to every reader. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, write to hello@benchline.review with the page address and a description of the problem; accessibility reports are treated as corrections.
